It’s Boozapalooza III: A night of Roots Rock Rebel as Maximum/EMI Recording Artists THE TOWN PANTS celebrate the release of their new album SHORE LEAVE after a 4 month tour of the US & Canada to once again host BOOZAPALOOZA at the Commodore Ballroom with very special guests RUN GMC and RICH HOPE AND HIS EVIL DOERS.
Ther...e's no Commodore show quite like it. Were you there forthe Boozapalooza I, and Boozapalooza II? Both shows SOLD OUT and we're doing it all again this year on Friday, November 20th 2009!
The Town Pants have emerged from Vancouver to become one of the most exciting live acts and most lauded groups on the celtic-rock scene. Now over a decade and still going strong, the Vancouver based band that began from a small pub combo into a full-scale international touring act, gaining them fans from Ottawa to Oslo and from folkie to punk, singing songs of lust, death, sea disasters, restless corpses, misadventure, and with a heady dose of barstool wisdom all played with an amphetamine gallop they call "West Coast celtic." Boozapalooza also marks the release of their fifth CD "Shore Leave".
Boozapalooza III (this time its personal) also makes for a return of great local music to the venerable Commodore Ballroom as the band shares the stage with RUN GMC and RICH HOPE & HIS EVIL DOERS!
RUN GMC is Canada’s only 7 piece Trucker band. “…Its like O’ Brother Where Art Thou dipped in a vat of the cheapest beer you can buy”. Back by popular demand, the Vancouver group brings its Mac-Truck backfiring bang blend of high energy roots country Truck-rock.
Local greats RICH HOPE & HIS EVIL DOERS get the evening going playing songs from their new album "Gonna Whip it On Ya", a must have dirty dose for your cd player of the greatest greasy blues explosion since Howlin' Wolf!
