Ben Bellamy I noticed your one sided piece about Cameron at the war memorial Tom.

Now that Gordon brown has aplolgised for exactly the same thing would you also decry him for it to make it a balanced argument?

I am guessing that being the PR genius that you are you probably won't.

Sorry Labour friends but I'm deeply unhappy about the new proposals to give unprecedented powers to allow a Secretary of State to amend the Copyright Act 1988...

Adam Whitworth I think the public should be alerted that the conservatives are very keen to bring back fox-hunting.

Thank you for the reply - this is, as they say, much more like it. :)

Thank you for opening my eyes to the wider class issues around fox hunting - I will confess I was not aware of its far reach, believing Harriering to be more popular method of recreation among the 'poorer classes' (to use the term highly ironically, I'm sure you understand). I shall take a look at these facts and hopefully be more knowledgeable the next time this debate comes to my attention.

As for the humanity issues - personally I very much take it as read that fox hunting, because of the way the fox is killed, is inhumane and unnecessary. I accept there is debate over this, but would consider that something to be brought up within the debate over legalising it again itself - rather than a debate over whether the issue is really the best use of Commons time, as you rightly questioned. ... I'm a little sketchy on the ban coming in - 2005, was it not? I believe it was just before the election, in any case, and as such am not entirely sure what the other pressing issues of the day were - the economy was 'healthy', Iraq was as ever controversial and Afghanistan trundling along without the importance it 'suddenly' holds today. Nevertheless, as my sympathies lie more with those who support the ban, I am perhaps unsurprisingly more inclined to support the use of Commons time in ending what I consider a barbaric practice as soon as possible rather than re-instating it when a delay would not be endangering, for want of a less flippant way of putting it, foxes. I hope that makes sense.

As for the statistics remark - fair enough. I simply objected to your taking my (what I believed to be) obviously personal statistic and trying to pin the blame upon the Labour party. I see now you were making political capital against their statistical 'foibles' by using an equally untrustworthy example. In the interests of this discussion, perhaps this is more useful:
http://www.ipsos-mori.com/Assets/Docs/Polls/public-opinion-on-hunting-2009-press-release.pdf
As you will no doubt note, more than twice as many Conservative voters back the ban than want to see it repealed - methinks a deal of 'internal conversation' will be necessary before the Conservatives reach their decision.

I hope this covers the brunt of this debate - I very much look forward to seeing where this goes, both in this discussion and on the national level.

Pathetic Tom. You lot really are grasping at anything aren't you. Good sign of a desperate party fighting for life.

Being the PR supremo you clearly see yourself aren't you a little embarrased by this?

I hold you in the highest contempt.

Jimi Listened to you on Radio 5 yesterday Tom, it was going so well wasn't it what with your simultaneous appeasement of both sides of the censorship debate and then what, what did you do...?

Accidentally mention an association with Damien McBride and Smeargate. I loved the bit when you said, "I haven't bought the Sun since......" And then a sudden pause, knowing you'd put your foot in it. Good job Nicky Campbell was on the ball wasn't it. Hilarious. You really are the master of political communication aren't you.
