Thank you to Charles Knight, the editor of the AltSearchEngines, for organizing this great event that brought together alternative search engines based in New York or visiting the Big Appl...e. We enjoyed our drinks, the view of downtown Manhattan and discussions on different ways of searching. We even had some members of the hakia Band play live music.

We have just updated our toolbar, the hakia ScoopBar, with a new feature: a shortcut button to hakia’s social networking platform “Meet Others who asked the same query.”
The updated toolbar will now allow users to search the Web for information AND/OR search for others looking for the same information. This ...brings social networking and search one step closer.
