If you haven't heard the fantastic news already: our Red Nose Day total is in... and it's way beyond what any of us could have expected. You have helped us raise an astounding £80 million! The BT Red Nose Climb up Kilimanjaro alone raised over £3.4 million! Thanks so much to all of you for your support and generosity. The money you have raised will literally change lives forever.
Hi,

What a truly amazing day! A record amount of money has been donated so far, more than any year before...

A WHOPPING £57,908,938!!

Thank you to all of you that have donated, raised money or simply done something funny for money - to show your support.

We've seen Ben Shepherd, Jonathon Ross, Ronan Keating, Harry Enfield, Dawn French, and quite a few other top celebs pop by to say "hi" backstage at RND on Facebook. Check out all the webcam pics from the night: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=63124&id=34341434454

Not to mention the 'The Full Monty' routine, that was practiced in front of us backstage! Absolutely brilliant! Although, we didn't get quite the eyeful that you lot watching TV did!!

We hope you don't think we've sent too many status updates and we hope you appreciate our reason for this is simple - we want as many people as possible to donate for the good causes that Comic Relief supports.

You can still donate...buy the very best of everything Comic Relief: on iTunes: http://www.itunes.com/comicrelief and keep an eye on rednoseday.com for lots of content that didn't make the show!

Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you
A lack of decent healthcare, poverty and deprivation cause women to die during pregnancy and childbirth every day across Africa. In fact, 57% of births in Sub-Saharan African take place without any skilled nurse, midwife or doctor. £40 could buy a bicycle ambulance for a village. These bicycles, fitted with a stretcher trailer, can be a quick and easy way of getting a pregnant woman to health clinic in time to save her life.
