Last week at the Tanzanian PPF awards, the school was placed 2nd out of 1000s of Education and Training Institutions-all schools, colleges, universities and vocational Training Centres.
The award was based on the fact that going on ratio of staff, 100% of all our Tanzanian employees pay their PPF contributions every mo...nth, their money is paid into their accounts on time (within the following month) and the school matches every contribution on time.
A big congratulations has to go to our school payroll accountants-Susanne and Suzie (the SS team!!)
In Tanzania, it is compulsory for all Tanzanian employees to contribute towards their retirement. At least 10% has to be deducted from their net salary and paid to their superannuation fund. There are 2 funds to choose from-NSSF and PPF. Most of our staff go with PPF as they are more likely to get the money on retirement. The 10% that they contribute is this matched by the school and so each month each of our Tanzanian workers get equiv of 20% paid into their superannuation account.Read more
