Based on Robert Kaplow’s novel, Richard Linklater’s brilliantly clever movie tells the tale of bored 1937 New York teenager Richard (Zac Efron), who fantasises about a Broadway acting career. A chance meeting with Orson Welles (Christian McKay) suddenly makes Richard’s dream a realistic prospect. Taken under the wing o...f glamorous production manager Sonja (Clare Danes), Richard becomes quickly smitten – but has be bitten off more than he can chew…?

After the screening, filmmaker Richard Linklater, Zac Efron, Clare Danes and Christian McKay will be in conversation live via satellite after the show. Tickets: £10.00/£8.00 concessions.

Claire Johnson

Claire Johnson Hi, I've not had much luck on the website - tried to subscribe to updates, but the link came back as "broken" when I submitted my info. Also, have other screening dates (aside from Christmas Eve) been announced yet for "It's a Wonderful Life"?

Hi Claire, We're still experiencing some minor issues with the website since our shift to a new server. We'll be announcing the date for our It's A Wonderful Life Night of Good Cheer live music event in the next couple of days. But if you just want more regular shows it opens on 11 December and more dates & times will be announced as we get closer to Christmas.

Tyneside Cinema OK. The opera's sold out today, but there's still loads to see. BRIGHT STAR is amazing, and is well worth your time, and we think we smell an Oscar - as for THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS, what a brill slice of fun! Don't Forget - NORTH BY NORTHWEST is Monday night too. Phew! New guide hits the stands on Tuesday, @ midday. No excuses!
