Peter Maple

Peter Maple I'm all for the poppy appeal BUT am I alone in feeling angry about being told to wear a poppy "for the sake of his family?" This is a guilt trip and, I think a very bad one. Shame on you British Legion you're better than that.

UK Fundraising We're sorry to see the demise of face-to-face fundraising company DialogueDirect UK. It used the name 'DialogueDirect Fundraising UK', so I just wanted to assure you that Fundraising UK Ltd, the company behind the UK Fundraising website and this group on Facebook, is not in any way affiliated with them.

UK Fundraising Nice to see another good proposal from Barry Gower make it to Third Sector. It is Barry's innovative approach to Gift Aid that encouraged us to run joint training courses with him. The next one is on Monday morning in London:

. It was a sad day when Jeff Brooks left DPB in September 2009, but it’s worth digging deep into his many hundreds of posts to learn from his simply brilliant perspective on fundraisng. My special favorite is stupid nonprofit ads.

UK Fundraising Nice to have a list of billionaires that have actually given over a billion dollars to charity, rather than a list of billionaires whom you'd hope would give to charity.

Of the world's 793 billionaires only 11 have given $1 billion or more to charity. Bit depressing, but a challenge for fundraisers everywhere.
