Singer–songwriter Amelia Curran will play a free special set for her fans.
If sad songs say so much, then Amelia Curran could filibuster forever. A self-described “thinker and drinker,” Curran writes music that belongs most to rainy days and empty streets at 3:00 a.m. The Newfoundland and Nova Scotia musician performed at the 2009 Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Winnipeg Folk Festival It's time folks! We are studying a new way of selling tickets- bundling camping and festival admission into one ticket (volunteers could still buy camping only). Many within our Winnipeg Folk Festival family may have heard of the loss of a talented young singer-songwriter earlier this week. Taylor Mitchell died after being attacked by coyotes while on tour in Atlantic Canada. Several of our volunteers and audience members got to know Taylor this summer when she was a particip...ant in the Young Performers' Program at the 2009 Winnipeg Folk Festival.
