We need your help.. The Rock Sound poll competition is coming up and we would love it if you voted for us. We were voted 2nd BEST UNSIGNED BAND in 2007 and now with a new sound, better live performance and doing everything ourselves without the help of agents, managers, pro...ducers, record label or engineers – We do everything you see or hear of YAWA alone!! – We now need the help from friends, family and everyone else to make the music industry sit up and take notice of what goes on in the real world and not what they think should be out there and heard!
We were played on Kerrang Radio – Klub Kerrang Room 2 with Singing Henri – a few weeks ago and received some good feedback from that! (THANKS HENRI!!!) and then played a night in Walsall which Kerrang DJ Luke Wilkins hosted - And he said we were something unique and NEW having not seen anything like this or hearing it!
We find it hard enough ‘going alone’ having to provide everything ourselves financially and driving each other to keep at it – we want this more than ever and whereas band who are signed up and endorsed get the financially background covered by these people in the industry. We turn this away as we don’t agree with people who hardly know us trying to cash in on us… And yet we know as well as many of you know, they’ll give us the best image, best photo’s but not concentrate on what were about, which is why we ‘go it alone’ and keep loyal and true to you! The Fans, who we don’t think of as fans but people we now know, talk to and want to rave/rock out at gigs with!
Anyone that has seen us live know we are not the kind of band who think we are cool, or shy away in the back room (apart from before going out on stage and getting ready!)
